Which holidays are included?

SkipAlarm includes public holiday calendars for 22 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States. Regional holidays depend on your selected region; the US calendar covers federal holidays. Some Swiss holidays vary by municipality. Check your employer's calendar and add any missing days yourself.

Can I automatically skip school holidays?

Yes, since version 1.1 in Germany, Austria, Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Portugal. Choose your school region or grade level and enable “Skip School Holidays” for each alarm you want to pause. Dates also appear under “Region & Holidays.” School holidays for the Azores and Madeira are not yet supported. Fetching and updating dates requires an internet connection; downloaded dates remain available offline. Skipping requires the free trial or Pro.

Will it ring in Silent mode or Focus?

Yes. SkipAlarm uses Apple's AlarmKit to ring even in Silent mode and with Focus enabled, provided you've granted alarm permission. Turn off matching alarms in the Clock app separately — SkipAlarm can't pause those.

Do I need to open the app regularly?

Yes. SkipAlarm schedules individual alarms up to twelve weeks ahead, subject to the system alarm limit. “Scheduled until” shows the period actually covered without gaps. Open the app regularly to extend it. Background refresh isn't guaranteed; a weekly Shortcuts automation that runs “Refresh Alarms” is an additional safeguard. Allow notifications for a reminder one week before coverage ends, or sooner if the remaining period is shorter.

What happens after the 14-day trial?

Your regular alarms continue to work, but public holiday, school holiday and vacation skipping and extra alarm days require Pro. Unlock Pro with a one-time purchase to keep those features. The trial doesn't automatically turn into a paid purchase.

Does SkipAlarm need my location or an account?

No. You pick your region yourself, and public holiday calculations happen on your device. School holiday dates are downloaded from the OpenHolidays API when needed and cached locally. Your alarms and chosen school region are not sent. There's no SkipAlarm account, no advertising, and no third-party analytics. See our privacy policy for details about downloads. Apple handles any App Store purchases.

Which languages does the app support?

English and German, plus French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese (Portugal), Japanese and Korean since version 1.1. The website remains available in English and German.

Which devices are supported?

SkipAlarm is made for iPhone with iOS 26 or later. Allow alarm access during setup so your alarms can ring. Notification permission is optional.

Made for the mornings that matter.

Wake up when you need to.
Not when you don't.

A smarter alarm. A quieter holiday. A little more time under the covers.
